Review: Unleashed by Buddy Lord

This book is about Adira, a girl who’s lived her life in seclusion in a Fae forest, until dark and dangerous forces disturbed her piece and threatened her and her sister’s lives. In one day, her life is turned upside down. Despite her lack of experience and her mother’s protectiveness, Adira is brave and inquisitive, and so the incident leaves a huge imprint on her imagination. It pushes her toward an adventure she couldn’t even imagine. The book starts and ends with action, and there’s not a single slow chapter that would make you bored. Adira’s bright personality shines through the pages, and in some ways, she reminded me of the princess in Maleficent. There’s not a dark spot on her heart, and she wants to know everything about the world around her, and like any other girl, craves love and adventure. Only unlike the princess, she’s not helpless at all – her magic is strong, and she knows how to use it. Her sister is the same with her shape-shifting abilities, and the two are an exciting pair of troublemakers. It’s impossible not to fall in love with them. The story is fast-paced, written smoothly and with a lot of breathtaking moments. I read it in two sittings, as it was difficult not to peek at the next chapter’s beginning. If you’re into fantasy worlds, magic and adventure, I recommend you give this book a try!
