Book review

I received a copy of this book from the author for an honest review.

I find it hard to describe exactly how I felt after finishing You. Are. Not. Alone. The reason is, there were too many things I could relate too, and it was overwhelming to see this reflection of myself in someone living on the other side of the globe. I will never stop being surprised by how similar we all are. In this collection of short verses the author shows us bare emotions and very personal feelings, both positive and negative. But it never left me in a depressed mood, on the contrary - in every verse I could see a glimpse of hope, the growth that the author experienced, and it was always thought-provoking. I could feel the vulnerability and courage, all in one, that I've always been fascinated with and tried to convey in my own writing. I could relate to the verses about friendship and love, and all the unrequited feelings the author had to go through. Just like him, I learned from it, and now I don't mind being reminded of it and of how I've changed because of the things that I considered bad in the past. I think the book couldn't have a better name, because from the start to the end of it, I could feel that I was, in truth, not alone :)
