One word: Incredible. I've read so many sci-fi books since I was a child, I thought it was impossible to find something new, but I was wrong. As with many sci-fi reads, it was confusing in the beginning, but soon enough I understood who was who and what was what, and the plot picked up, too. I don't want to spoil it, so I'll just say that the plot is very clever and unpredictable. We get to see different perspectives from a few characters with their unique roles, and their relationships change from confrontational to cooperative together with their vision of the world. They have well-developed personalities and deal with real life problems as well. I liked 261 the most, he was absolutely fascinating. Author's writing style is something I already mentioned in another review for a different book by him, but I'll say it again, he has a unique style and points out a lot of interesting details that help you feel the mood of every situation and character. If you're tired of over-used ideas; if you love books that make your brain work like crazy and, at the same time, can make you feel something really strong, I recommend reading Exurbia without a doubt.
